Oh Dear Oh Dear

You would think, wouldn't you, that as you get older you get more sensible.....I am definately regressing!! Yesterday was The Melbourne Cup - we started drinking at 9.30am and I lasted pretty well - got to bed at 9.30pm. I think the pictures say it all really!!! Oh dear oh dear, will I ever learn? Probably not.....hehehehe (Can you believe Claire, pic on the right, made that hat herself!!)

My Mum was here for it last year....can't believe a year has passed already!! You can read about last years here

Note - This post is a few days out of date. My pictures were awful so had to beg, borrow and steal them from other people. These are the sensible ones.... (Don't think the others should ever be seen in public!!)

Oh what a fun time was had by all, judging from the pics. Are you in one of them? Is the Melbourne Cup a big deal for expats over there?

This is French Fancy by the way, for some reason I kept being told my password was incorrect. Strange.

I hope you are not expecting that kind of frivolity at my book launch?! Drinking starts at 8pm and we'll all be kicked out by midnight...are you SURE you want to come back to England?

French Fancy -(Computers...don't you just love em!!)

I am in two of the pics....I'm the girl in the Gregory Pecks grinning like a loon!!

The Australian and New Zealand Women's Group (ANZWG) arrange a huge party every year...you go, drink Champagne, bet on a horse, drink Champagne, watch the race, drink Champagne, eat lunch, (did I mention drink Champagne), dance and then go to the after party in a pub somewhere!! It is so much fun...and gets very very messy!!!

Debs - The not-so-sensible pictures are absolutely hilarious but I don't think anyone would ever speak to me again if I posted them!!

DJ - LOL!! A book launch is different...that is to celebrate a very talented writer finally getting the recognition they deserve....it's not just a big piss up!!

It sounds just like my sort of do. I seem to have developed a wine allergy out here but not a champagne allergy luckily enough.

You look lovely in the pics and I think we have the same specs.

French Fancy - OMG a wine allergy....that must be absolutely awful!!! (But your right...would be worse if it was wine AND champagne!!)

Hahaha...isn't it funny we both have the same specs...just goes to show what great taste we have!!

Tomato - LOL....There are more of me looking like an eejit on here than there are of you!!!

Lane - It's an early start isn't it!! JJ and I did say we were going to take it easy but that seemed to go out the window relatively early on!!!

me again- my third comment - sorry

Just read on Missy M's site about your little cats having to go into quarantine. Poor things. How rotten there is no EU directive for out of the EU - if you know what I mean. I wonder if you'll be able to visit them - or maybe that will make it harder for you, having to keep saying goodbye.

I love night out pics. I dont ever take any for some reason but I shall on my next night out. I probably wont post them though. I take bad enough pics sober!

French Fancy - You can comment as many times as you like my dear :-)

We are gutted that they are going to have to go into quarantine!!! Still, I'm hoping that we will be able to go and visit them and that since they are little, only a year and a half old, it won't be too traumatic for them!!

Lilly - Hi Hon. Not heard from you in a while and was starting to get worried (says she who's not updated her blog in weeks!!). You must take photo's of drunken nights out and then embarrass your friends....that's what blogs are for (in my world anyway :-))

Amanda - They get worse....much much worse....
