Art and Movies

I'm still here folks......I've just been distracted by all the art work I've to do. I'm nearly finished the front cover illustration for the Children's books - there was a slight delay as I'm doing them in colour and discovered that I didn't have enough colours in my arsenal so had to go out and buy some more which was harder than I had imagined!!! Once it is finished and sent I should be able to give you a link to the website.....watch this space!!!

My commissioned piece is going well (now).....I had a bit of a disaster with it.....I had been working on it solidly for four days and every time I looked at it I felt that there was something not quite right with it. I have no idea what that something was but it was annoying me so much that I started again!! Actually, that's not as bad as it sounds cause I could use most of what I already had so it wasn't like I was starting completely from scratch - I am much much happier with it now!!!

We're been out and about too - I tried real Japanese food for the first time and absolutely loved it!! I had a chicken teriyaki set which is chicken teriyaki (now there's a surprise), miso soup (which is a clear soup with tofu and spring onions) and rice....it was really good!!! We went to the cinema to see Wanted which was made by the same Russian director that did Night Watch (Don't be put off by the pic - it's not really a horror movie) and Day Watch so it had some really fantastic effects, we went back to the Saxophone bar at Victory Monument which is just fab (not been for ages and I had forgotten how much I liked it) and I finally got to see the Sex and The City Movie and I have to say that I loved it - No, Chris didn't watch it he went to the pub and Marissa and I watched it in her apartment with nibbles and wine....a rather lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Looking forward to seeing your art work. So pleased to hear that you are now working in colour. Bet you are loving it!

The Japanese food looks so colourful. I'm hungry just looking at it.

The Sex and the City film is good isn't it? It leaves you smiling.

Love Mum xx

I can't wait to see your art work, what a pain having to start again though.

I'm looking forward to seeing Wanted and S&TC too, can't wait but will probably end up waiting until they come on Sky or DVD.

Did you not work out what was wrong with the pic before you started again?

I'm going into Carol withdrawals!! It's been too long girlfriend :-D! I was in Hat Yai yesterday and went in to see what was on at the movies..I really wanted to see Wanted or Hancock. Both were showing...but with Thai dubbing!!! NO ENGLISH soundtrack! I wanted to KILL!! Ahh the joys of living at the world's end!

Mum - You'll have to wait till Jane has seen it!!! Still not convinced by the colour but it might grow on me...you never know!!

The SATC film had me roaring with laughter....especially the bit with Charlotte!!! (Don't want to say any more in case I ruin it for anyone!!)

Debs - It was a pain but I'm much much happier with it so it was well worth it.

I think you'll enjoy both films!!

Lane - I am not sure how I'm going to be able to show what I've been doing. They are big pieces so I'm going to have to track down a printer with a big scanner!!

JJ - That's exactly what I did!! Once I started re-drawing it I discovered that there was more than one thing that I was not happy with (That's probably why I couldn't figure out what the problem was) and I am now using the first one for trying idea's out on!!

Mel - It's been bloody ages!! When are you coming back to Bangkok? I now have the SATC on DVD so we could send the guys to football and have a girly evening!!

Ugh, starting from scratch is such a brave thing to do. Love the photo of all that sushi and whatnot. I'm not sure there's anything better than stonkingly good Japanese food?

You really are in foodie heaven there. Can't wait to see your work...

Spiral Skies - I had no choice!! There was no way that I could have given it to her when I wasn't happy with it!!

The sushi was fab but....I still think that you can't beat a good curry!!!
