European Young Professionals

On Tuesday Chris and I went out to a European Young Professionals networking event (Hmmm.....does Chris count as a 'Young' European Professional since he is, you know, getting on a bit!! (Oh, he's going to kill me for that comment)) which I really wasn't sure about. I never know what to expect at 'Networking' events and have to suppress the urge to run screaming up the nearest hill (Ok.....finding a hill might be a bit of a challenge in Bangkok but I could always run screaming for the nearest skyscraper and get the lift!!). I once got stuck with THE most hideous man I have ever met at a networking event. He had the personality of a damp sponge and the appeal of a mouldy sock - If ignorance were a disability, he would have got the full pension!! (Why is it that the people with the smallest minds always have the biggest mouths?) I'm getting a bit sidetracked here....Ah, yes, the networking event!! It was really good.

We met some really nice people AND discovered that there are three Scottish bars within walking distance of where we live (Chris reckons that it would be rude not to pay them a visit). We spent most of the evening with Marc (Oxfam HR Manager) and his wife making and we all had good fun making rude comments about the music that was being played. (It was past Eurovision Song contest winners so I think we were allowed!!). Oh, we also discussed whether the Eurovision Song Contest will ever be good and it was agreed 'When Hell Freezes over'

I'm with you on the Eurovision Song Contest. For a country with so much musical talent, we always pick crappy artistes with the most awful songs for our entries. The good news is - so does everyone else. Katwoman
