We're keeping the Cat!!

Chris has said that we can keep the cat but on the condition that we change his name!! The main reason for this is that Moon can't pronounce it (she calls him cat)

I'm issuing you a challenge - what do you think we should call him? (Chris has the final say)

So far we have got Gai (cause Gai means Chicken and Chris thinks he looks like a plucked chicken), Kebab (cause he's lucky he didn't end up as one) and Kao (which was Moon's suggestion because Kao means white in Thai). At the moment Gai is the front runner............

What about Wee Gai Pirate? Or, more seriously, just Wee Gai?

I think we have to clarify the pronunciation of Gai.

Is it pronounced like "guy" or like "gay"?

Cos I read it like "guy" and so couldn't understand the Big Gay Pirate's reference... I'm left thinking - Wee Guy Pirate, why?

But if it is pronounced "Guy" - that makes me think of "Guy" in Galaxy Quest. Considering the odds were stacked against that wee thing of yours surviving, it might be appropriate to name him after him.

Some memorable quotes to back my case...

"My character isn't important enough for a last name, because I'm gonna die five minutes in."
"Guy, you have a last name."
"Do I? DO I? For all you know I'm 'Crewman number six'. I'm not even supposed to be here. I'm just 'Crewman Number Six.' I'm expendable. I'm the guy in the episode who dies to prove how serious the situation is. I've gotta get outta here."

And...

"I'm just a glorified extra, Fred. I'm a dead man anyway. If I'm gonna die, I'd rather go out a hero than a coward."
"Guy, Guy... maybe you're the plucky comic relief. You ever think about that?"

With a face like your wee cat's, plucky comic relief is what he's made for...

you just can't call him chicken - the poor thing will have a personality complex always wondering whether he is a cat or a chicken - but I can see how it would appeal to Chris' sense of humour as suggested naming a dog either sit or stay......

I have to say (and I REALLT dont know why) when I look at the photo of the cutie I think of the name Noodle. yep I must be mad so will leave it there.....

I knew Chris would buckle when he saw that puppy-dog look in your eyes (that I know you had) when you asked him if you could keep the wee thing. He's a big softie really, isn't he? (I mean Chris of course).

As for a name, you could do worse than 'Guinness'. Moon can pronounce that. But I quite like Thai Gai. Love Katwoman.
