We are officially celebrating this weekend........
One year ago today (I know.....can you believe it!!) we arrived in Thailand with two mammoth suitcases wondering what the hell we had let ourselves in for!! We both love the place and have had a fantastic first year - It is amazing how things that we used to think were really strange are now common place.
In saying that I don't think I will ever get used to seeing things like this.....

And what a quiet, uneventful year you've had - only one military coup and a handful of New Year bombs. Let's hope your stay in Thailand continues in the same calm vein.
Time goes so fast doesn't it! I can't believe I've been here 3 years already, just flies by!
So funny, last week they were fixing power lines in our street..bare hands and flip flops on his feet while resting ON the lines!! I was having heart failure that I'd see someone die right before my eyes.
Congrats on your anniversary!
Dad - LOL absolutely!!
Mel - I know....I really can't believe it's been a year already. Sometimes it feels like I've been here for five minutes and in other ways it feels like I've been here forever!!
That's what that guy was doing - he was standing on one set of wires whilst he tidied up the other ones!! I couldn't look.....Chris had to take the photo. Health and Safety is definately more of a concept rather than an actuality!!

It is undoubtedly a fantastic place and, with all due respect to Manchester, a far better holiday destination for your cheapo sister/in law!
Good luck to Gai with the op today - though it's a strange way to celebrate - two arrivals a year ago then 'two departures' a year later! Jo
Jo - I think it might just be a bit cheaper to get to Manchester than Bangkok!!
I've spoken to the Vet and Gai is fine. Lugs has been driving me mad - he's missing him so is wanting constant attention!!
Was lovely speaking to you on Saturday.

Congratulations on your first year! So much has happened upon reflection, chai mai?
And never fear, you will ALWAYS see baffling scenery, like that photo you posted. Everyday holds something new to experience, it's a fascinating place to live.
Amy - It certainly is!!
